SOCIAL MEDIA RESPONSE TEAM APPLICATION

BACKGROUND
As a fan-owned company, social media is a critical channel for Legion M — especially when we have an investment round open or new movie/project coming out. We get a lot of comments/questions/enquiries on our posts, and we believe it’s important to answer people’s questions, respond to critics, and generally showcase what a warm and wonderful community Legion M is. As our social media traffic continues to grow, we’re looking to see if we can leverage the power of the Legion to help us manage it.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We’re looking for a few good people to join our communications team for a temporary experiment. Initially we’re asking for a two-month commitment, starting within the next few weeks, but it could potentially lead to a longer term opportunity. You will be working from home — all you need is a computer and access to the internet. The hours will vary — expect anywhere from 0 to 20 hours per week depending on social media traffic and your availability. We’re willing to work around your schedule, but ideally looking for people that are available during regular periods each day (e.g. mornings, early afternoons) as well as weekends. Starting pay is $15/hour.

At the end of 60 days, we’ll evaluate the results to see how we want to proceed. If the test goes well, one or more of the positions may continue beyond the trial period. Or we may decide to scrap the whole thing and try something else.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

We’re looking for people with the following attributes:

  • Strong, professional writing skills -- you’ll be responding as a representative of Legion M

  • Fun, easy-going temperament -- we’re looking for people that embody what Legion M is all about. Also, the internet is full of trolls and you’ll need to be able to keep your cool when encountering them

  • Self-starter -- you’ll be working from your own location and will be responsible for:

    • Manning any assigned shifts

    • Checking the queue periodically, as your time permits

    • Answering the Bat Signal when volume is high, as your time permits

    • Tracking your hours

  • Team player – able to work well with the rest of the team and carry your fair share of the load

  • Self-aware – recognize which questions you can safely answer, and which ones need to be escalated to another team member

  • Deep knowledge of Legion M and JOBS Act investing – is desired but not required, as we will have a number of FAQs you can draw from

  • Availability during the trial period – you should be available at least 8 hours per week for most of the weeks in the trial; availability during weekday business hours is a plus
